An unhealthy load balancer mishandled roughly 8 percent of all requests for roughly an hour. Effected users would eventually receive an empty response with a 502 or 504 status code. We restarted it and began serving traffic as normal. We're taking steps to improve our monitoring to detect similar issues sooner.
